The Shire of Boddington is excited to announce that Council has approved the Concept Plan for developing Darminning (Ranford) Pool, in collaboration with a community-led reference group. With careful consideration, the Reference Group has recommended several enhancements to improve the overall experience for visitors.

The Boddington Interpretive Centre opened in 2018 and is co-located with the Boddington Library, as well as a Café, which collectively is signposted as the Boddington Visitor Centre.

Advocacy is an important way for the Shire to provide a voice for the community on issues that matter. One of the advocacy projects that the Shire has prioritised, is raising the need for the installation of overtaking opportunities and/or passing lanes between Boddington and Dwellingup.

Following opening of the Recreation Centre in 2017, feedback from the community consistently expressed aspiration for a gym facility to be incorporated into the precinct. In 2022 the Shire of Boddington undertook community consultation to determine the level of support in the community for the Shire to establish a Community Gym, as well as clarify local expectations of how the facility would operate.

Officially opened in March 2021, Hotham Park has become a must-see location for visitors to Boddington as well as providing a fantastic recreational asset for the local community. During consultation for the 2022 - 2032 Council Plan, the community identified the need for a toddler playground within the existing facility to cater for children aged 2+.

The Shire of Boddington was successful in obtaining funding with Holyoake’s Wheatbelt Suicide Prevention Project to build the capacity of community groups and service providers to enhance health and wellbeing in two at-risk groups.

To support Boddington’s economic growth and diversification, signage to direct visitors is key to providing a positive and consistent visitor experience. The Boddington Tourism Strategy, developed in 2013, confirmed the need for improvements to signage throughout Boddington.

The Town Centre Revitalisation Masterplan highlighted the need to upgrade of the Town Hall Carpark and sealing Peppercorn Lane. The Town Hall Carpark Upgrade Project aimed to deliver essential infrastructure and amenity improvements to support increased community use of the Town Hall precinct.

The Town Centre Revitalisation project includes the permanent installation of Mural Art in Boddington's town centre. These artworks will contribute to an attractive streetscape, and vibrant town centre. These murals stand as a testament to Boddington's rich heritage and community spirit, reflecting the collective creativity and participation of residents in mural surveys and workshops.

As part of the Town Centre Revitalisation Project and the Signage Strategy, upgrading the streetlight banner system along Bannister Road was identified as a priority. Street banners provide an opportunity to promote local attractions and events, while adding vibrant colour to the main street of town.

The Boddington Town Centre Revitalisation Project has made significant strides in transforming the area along Bannister Road, primarily through the strategic planting of vibrant Crepe Myrtle trees. These trees were specifically chosen for their striking appearance and ability to provide much-needed shade for pedestrians, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of the streetscape.

The Boddington Town Centre Revitalisation Project has made remarkable progress in revitalising the area along Bannister Road, including the removal of the outdated fencing that previously encircled the grounds of the historic Boddington Old School.

As part of the Town Centre Revitalisation Project and the Signage Strategy, the bins located along Bannister Road were set to be replaced. The new bins are not only environmentally friendly, but will also bring a pop of colour to the main street, and guide tourists to some of Boddington's top attractions and events.
