Street Banners (Closed)

As part of the Town Centre Revitalisation Project and the Signage Strategy, upgrading the streetlight banner system along Bannister Road was identified as a priority. Street banners provide an opportunity to promote local attractions and events, while adding vibrant colour to the main street of town.

There were eight existing banner poles positioned along Bannister Road attached to streetlights. These were intended to be used to promote major community events in Boddington and surrounds. Changing these banners was a costly endeavour, requiring a ute, cherry picker, and at least two people to complete the task.

The Shire explored alternative banner systems to simplify and increase efficiency of the flag changeover process. A new system was installed which allows the banners to be changed by one person from ground level twice a year, in live with the two major event periods of Boddington.

The new banners add more colour and vibrancy to the main street of town, while promoting local attractions including Hotham Park and Ranford Pool, and events including the Boddington Lions Rodeo, Field of Quilts, Medieval Fayre and Feast, and more.
