Planned Mitigation Works

Mitigation Activity Fund (MAF) Grants Program 

Bushfire mitigation works are being conducted across the Shire now until July 2026 in accordance with the Shire’s Bushfire Risk Management Plan 2024 -2026.

All care is taken to ensure environmental values and cultural heritage is protected.

The below locations are where the works are taking place. 

Nearby residential properties will be notified when the works are to be conducted, by correspondence and social media.

Littleton Rise Road Reserve, Boddington  

Reduce vegetation fuel loads to less than 5t/ha through hand tools to ensure Littleton Rise is a clear access/egress for residents and fire appliances in case of an emergency prior to July 2026.

Mitchell Crescent to River Road, Boddington

Establish emergency access and egress from Mitchell Cresent to River Road through the installation of a fire service access route. The fire service access route is to have 10 metres horizontal clearance including a 4m wide 2wd trafficable surface and 4.5m vertical clearance as per the Vehicular Access Technical requirements of Planning for Bushfire Guidelines 2024. The fire service access route is to be constructed prior to July 2026.

Install gates to allow access to fire access route easement within private property for emergency appliances and residential egress in the event of an emergency.

Reserve 40315, Boddington Golf Course, Boddington

Post planned burn chemical spray to reduce weed regrowth predominately grassland.

Crossman, Anderson, Tannin, and Bobo Road Reserves Boddington & Ranford.

Post mechanical works chemical spray to reduce weed regrowth predominately grassland.

Reserve 30466 - Christie Street Reserve, Ranford

Reduce vegetation fuel load to less than 5t/ha across 70% of the treatment area through mulching prior to July 2026.

Post mechanical works chemical spray to reduce weed regrowth predominately grassland.

Reserve 8178 – Quindanning Bush Fire Brigade - Harvey Quindanning Road, Quindanning

To remove fallen 80% of the dead trees through mechanical works and pile burns prior to July 2026.

Burn piles of dead fallen trees created through treatment 38542 prior to July 2026.
