The Shire of Boddington reviewed its Local Laws during the year 2000. Objectives of the current local law(s) are as follows:

Fencing

To set out a fencing standard ("a sufficient fence") for fencing materials acceptable for residential, commercial and industrial zones. Fences erected in these zones that are not "a sufficient" fence require the approval of Council.

Standing Orders

Relates to the conduct of council and committee meetings and ensures that such meetings are conducted efficiently, while enhancing the decision making process of the Council. Download the  Local Law - Standing Orders here.

Bees

To ensure that persons keeping bees, or allowing bees to remain on their property, take reasonable measures to prevent those bees causing nuisance to neighbours or to members of the public generally. Download the  Local Law - Beekeeping  here.

Local Government Property

To control the use of local government property. Some activities are permitted only under a permit or under a determination and some activities are restricted or prohibited. Dogs

To make provision about the impounding of dogs, to control the number of dogs that can be kept on premises and the manner of keeping those dogs and to prescribe areas in which dogs are prohibited and as dog exercise areas.

Cemeteries

To provide for the orderly management of the Boddington, Marradong and Quindanning Public Cemeteries in accordance with established plans and to create penalties for inappropriate behaviour within the cemetery grounds.

Health

To set standards for health and well being in relation to housing conditions, refuse, pest/animal control, infectious disease, accommodation standards, food control and the creation of health nuisances.
