We are delighted to share the achievements made on a number of projects over the past 12 months. 2023/24 priorities included advocacy for safe roads, beautifying our Town Centre, recognising our invaluable volunteers, delivering and supporting various community events, and introducing tourism initiatives and new attractions - plus much more! Thank you to everyone who has contributed.

The Shire of Boddington is seeking a motivated individual to join our Development and Community Services Team.

The Shire held its first Aboriginal Reference Group meeting, on 23 July 2024. Councillors, staff, and representatives from Boddingtons Aboriginal community discussed key issues and initiatives aimed at cultural preservation and community well-being.

The Bannister Rd toilet block now features a beautiful new mural. This vibrant artwork was created by Georgina Paterson, who has skilfully brought local flora and fauna to life across all four walls of the toilet block.

The streetlight banners along the main street of town have undergone a makeover. Last week the Shire of Boddington had eight new streetlight banners installed along Bannister Road, adding a vibrant touch to the main street.

In May, the Shire of Boddington asked for Community feedback regarding the refuse site opening hours. This consultation was carried out through a survey, allowing community members to vote for the hours that would best suit them.

Community groups and sporting clubs are invited to submit their written Expressions of Interest for one of four paid roles to assist with the arrival of temporary campers for this year’s Boddington Rodeo. Campers will be arriving on Friday, 1 November, 1pm to 8pm.

The Shire is pleased to announce the completion of the Hotham Park toilet block renovation. This project has revitalised the facility, and with the recently completed mural, both the inside and outside are looking fantastic!

BoddFit Community Gym now has a total of 165 active members, thanks to the addition of 26 new members who joined in May.

The Community Grant Program provides financial assistance to incorporated bodies to deliver projects and programs which deliver benefit to the local community and local economy to build an engaged, vibrant, inclusive, and healthy community.

The Shire is continuing to advocate for upgrades to enhance the safety and efficiency of Pinjarra Williams Road. Recently, the Shire held a productive meeting with representatives from Main Roads WA to advocate for the installation of passing lanes between Boddington and Dwellingup.

Come along and join the weekly fun, enable your child to explore their creativity, challenge themselves and meet new friends. Each week there is a different theme or challenge to encourage teamwork, cooperation and exploring new ideas.

For the second year in a row, the Shire of Boddington has been recognised as one of the top 20 best practice Local Governments in Western Australia for financial reporting and controls, by the Office of the Auditor General.

The vibrant new mural on the Main Street is now complete. This stunning piece of art, is ready for everyone to enjoy.

This year, Bowerbird Blues was the chosen story for National Simultaneous Storytime, which took place on Wednesday, 22 May 2024.

The Shire of Boddington advises that the following draft Local Planning Policy has been reviewed and amended and is now open for public comment.

The Shire is thrilled to announce that the Shire of Boddington has secured funding through the Growing Regions Program for the Town Centre Revitalisation Project!

Boddington's mural installations are set to begin soon, starting with the Fire Shed mural. The selected artist, Jacob Butler, has created a design that will feature Henry Boddington, highlighting historical significance, as well as local flora and fauna.

Congratulations to Wayne English, Anthony Littleton and Wayne Littleton, who were awarded long service medals by the Acting Assistant Commissioner of Country Operations and Superintendent of the Upper Great Southern Region from DFES at the National Volunteer Week event on Sunday, 26 May.

Tree planting has commenced this week as part of Boddington’s Town Centre Upgrade. Beautiful Crepe Myrtle trees can be seen along Bannister Road.

The Williams Reserve in Boddington is poised to become a premier destination for mountain biking enthusiasts, thanks to a substantial grant of $959,947 under the Australian Government’s Priority Community Infrastructure Program.
