Emergency services across Boddington are set to receive a significant boost, with funding secured for a shared Community Emergency Services Manager (CESM) position between the Shires of Boddington and Wandering.

At the Special Council Meeting held on Wednesday, 29 July 2026, the Shire of Boddington adopted its 2026/2027 Annual Budget, delivering a $9.7 million capital works program that continues Council's investment in community infrastructure, housing, recreation and roads.

Council has adopted the Shire of Boddington Council Plan 2026–2036 following its annual review.

Council has approved a Development Application for short-stay accommodation at two existing units on Hotham Avenue. This approval provides additional visitor accommodation options and supports tourism opportunities in Boddington.

The official opening of the Yarning Circle was celebrated on Thursday, 9 July 2026. This marked an important milestone in the creation of a welcoming space dedicated to connection, storytelling, reflection and cultural learning.

The Shire's winter road maintenance program has now commenced. Scheduled works include tree lopping, verge clean-up and road grading to support safe and accessible roads during the wetter months. The Boddington Youth Centre offers a safe and welcoming space for local young people aged 10 to 17 years to connect, learn and have fun after school and during school holidays. The Youth Centre offers a range of activities and opportunities designed to encourage creativity, social connection and personal development.

A long-term roadmap for infrastructure, services and financial planning has been endorsed through the Strategic Resource Plan 2026–2036. The plan outlines how key community priorities will be resourced over the next ten years.

The proposal to extend the closure of Morts Road until April 2029, along with a revised road alignment, has not been supported following community consultation and Council consideration.

A major milestone in the Boddington Mountain Bike Park project has been reached, with approval received for the Clearing Permit required for construction. Construction of the trail network is scheduled to commence in September, and the Shire has begun upgrading access roads and parking areas to support upcoming works.

The Library's new Children's Room is now open. The room provides a quiet and dedicated space for young readers and their families.

The Peel Development Commission recently held its Board meeting at the Shire of Boddington. The Shire President and Chief Executive Officer attended the meeting. Presenting Boddington's opportunities, challenges, key projects, and future sustainability initiatives, including the proposed future fund, to the Board.

Works have now commenced on the Central Park and 32 Bannister Road Enhancement Project, marking an important step forward in revitalising these key community spaces.
