Proposed differential rates for the 2026/27 financial year are progressing following the conclusion of the public advertising period.

As part of ongoing work on the dump truck display, two new benches and an interpretive sign have been installed at the site. Landscaping works are still to be completed to enhance the site's appearance for residents and visitors.

Construction has commenced on the new plaza area adjacent to the Celebrations store. The project is designed to improve the presentation, accessibility and overall amenity of the town centre, creating a more welcoming environment for residents, visitors and local businesses. During construction, community members may notice temporary changes around the work area. The Shire appreciates the community's patience and cooperation while these improvements are being delivered.

Community members are invited to meet with representatives from Alcoa at an upcoming Community Coffee and Conversation session in Boddington, providing an opportunity to learn more about local operations, environmental approvals and the Strategic Assessment process.

More than 100 local children levelled up their skills, confidence and coordination during the July school holidays through a highly successful gymnastics program delivered by Gymnastics WA.

The Boddington Youth Centre offers a safe and welcoming space for local young people aged 10 to 17 years to connect, learn and have fun after school and during school holidays. The Youth Centre offers a range of activities and opportunities designed to encourage creativity, social connection and personal development.

A long-term roadmap for infrastructure, services and financial planning has been endorsed through the Strategic Resource Plan 2026–2036. The plan outlines how key community priorities will be resourced over the next ten years.

The proposal to extend the closure of Morts Road until April 2029, along with a revised road alignment, has not been supported following community consultation and Council consideration.

A major milestone in the Boddington Mountain Bike Park project has been reached, with approval received for the Clearing Permit required for construction. Construction of the trail network is scheduled to commence in September, and the Shire has begun upgrading access roads and parking areas to support upcoming works.

The Library's new Children's Room is now open. The room provides a quiet and dedicated space for young readers and their families.

The Peel Development Commission recently held its Board meeting at the Shire of Boddington. The Shire President and Chief Executive Officer attended the meeting. Presenting Boddington's opportunities, challenges, key projects, and future sustainability initiatives, including the proposed future fund, to the Board.

The Shire is collaborating with Tredwell in developing a new Cycling and Walking Plan to make it easier, safer and more enjoyable for people of all ages to get around the community. Input from residents, local businesses and community groups will play an important role in shaping the plan.

Works have now commenced on the Central Park and 32 Bannister Road Enhancement Project, marking an important step forward in revitalising these key community spaces.

Council has endorsed the next steps to strengthen Boddington’s long-term financial resilience and help preserve the services, facilities and community benefits that residents currently enjoy. Mining has played a major role in supporting Boddington’s economy, local services, infrastructure and community facilities. While mining operations are expected to continue for some time, they are finite. Council is planning early so the district is better prepared for the future, when mining activity eventually reduces.

Level Up these school holidays with Gymnastics WA at a fun and active “come try” gymnastics session. Children and young people can learn basic gymnastics skills under the guidance of professionals in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Level Up is a new initiative launching in July 2026, offering pop-up sports sessions for children and young people in Boddington.

A ten-year enhancement plan has been adopted to guide the ongoing improvement of the Boddington Swimming Pool and surrounding facilities.
