Executive Manager Development Services

The Shire of Boddington is seeking a talented local government professional to lead a broad portfolio that delivers an exceptional level of service to the community. 

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Executive Manager Development Services is an integral part of the Executive Leadership Team. The successful candidate will be a dynamic, forward focussed individual with an outstanding stakeholder ethos.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational management of planning, building, environmental health, ranger and emergency services.
  • Provide specialist technical advice to staff and Council
  • Undertake activities as required to fulfil the operational needs of the business unit
  • Project management

The ideal candidate will have qualifications in Building Surveying, with significant post-graduate experience in a local government environment. A sound operational understanding of building, planning, and health services is required, along with demonstrated leadership skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. In addition, the successful candidate will be passionate about improving communities, have the drive to lead projects, and possess a values based outlook to organisational dynamics.

This position is offered on a three to five year contract, with a total remuneration package of up to $170,215 per annum, including a base salary of up to $115,000, provision of housing and vehicle, up to 16% superannuation, and additional allowances. The Shire is supportive of flexible working arrangements, which may be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Cleaner

Casual Opportunity

Together with the Works & Services Team, you will contribute to the delivery of the Shire’s building maintenance program.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that nominated Shire facilities are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and maintenance, and are presentable for all users of the relevant facility
  • Ensuring that cleaning is undertaken in accordance with service standards (including infection control processes) and all cleaning policies and procedures are carried out as per each designated area’s requirements
  • Adhering to a cleaning works schedule and performing duties on time, with care and professionalism

You will have a positive, honest and collaborative attitude, knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, products and equipment, and be able to work with limited supervision.

This role attracts an hourly rate of $31.14 (inclusive of loading) plus 10.5% superannuation.

Youth Centre Assistant

Casual Opportunity

The Shire is seeking suitably experienced and motivated individual to join our Community and Economic Development team. You will need the ability to communicate and relate to young people attending the Centre and be able to engage with the young people during the program delivery. Previous experience working with young people is not necessary however would be desirable.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Support the efficient and effective daily operations of the Boddington Youth Centre.
  •  Assist with implementation and planning of projects and programs.
  • Engage effectively with young people who are utilising the Boddington Youth Centre and/or participating in projects and programs, with a focus on building rapport.
