Shire of Boddington 2026/2027 Bush Fire Notice

A Guide to Constructing and Maintaining Fire-breaks

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) have developed a guide that provides land managers with advice on constructing and maintaining fire-breaks on the rural-urban interface, farms, pastoral leases and reserves. with the Guide to Constructing and Maintaining Fire-breaks here. 

Total Fire Bans

A Total Fire Ban (TFB) is declared on days when fires are most likely to threaten lives and property. This is because of predicted extreme fire weather or when there are already widespread fires and firefighting resources are stretched. Occasionally TFBs may be declared outside of a fire season (such as in May or June) due to other factors such as higher temperatures and expected strong winds preceding a storm front.

Bush Fire Advisory Committee

The Bush Fire Advisory Committee (BFAC) was established pursuant to section 67 of the Bush Fires Act 1954. Its role is to advise the Council on bushfire matters pertaining to bush fire prevention, preparedness and response within the Shire of Boddington. The BFAC meets annually.
