 Posted:03/03/2025 Closing Date: 01/05/2026 10:10 AM

The Shire of Boddington secured a grant in early 2025 from the Department of Transport to support the construction of a new dual-use footpath linking Hotham Park to Ranford Pool. The project aims to redevelop the existing path and create connection between Ranford and Town Centre that includes upgrade of existing amenity to provide for all modalities, including accessible traffic.

Mountain Bike Trail Project

Mountain Bike Trail Project

The Williams Reserve in Boddington is poised to become a premier destination for mountain biking enthusiasts, thanks to a substantial grant of $959,947 under the Australian Government’s Priority Community Infrastructure Program. This significant funding will be used to design and construct a series of mountain bike trails of varying lengths, styles, and classifications within Williams Reserve.

Lions Weir Project

Lions Weir Project

The Lions Weir spans the Hotham River to the North of Boddington townsite and was constructed in the 1980s by the Boddington Lions Club with the purpose of providing safe recreational space for the town. Originally the Weir was constructed of earth & rock backed timber.

Aged Care Accommodation Project

Aged Care Accommodation Project

Providing high quality aged care accommodation for residents from the Shire of Boddington and surrounding areas has been identified as a critical issue by the community.

Caravan Park Enhancement Project

Caravan Park Enhancement Project

Through the development of the Council Plan 2022-2032, Council resolved to progress a business plan to determine the need and viability for the upgrade of the Boddington Caravan Park. This planning for this project encompassed three stages, being a needs assessment, concept plan development, and business case.

Community Yarning Circle Project

Community Yarning Circle Project

This project, the Boddington Community Yarning Circle, initiated by Elder Greg Thorn, seeks to bring back the song-line of this area, a song-line that extends back thousands of years. Greg states that “by bringing back the song-line it can once again take its rightful place in our shared living history. It can be sung upon and walked on into our shared future."

Boddington Swimming Pool Future Options Project

Boddington Swimming Pool Future Options Project

Community feedback has indicated several facility and operational improvements that require further consideration. The present facility, while not near end of life, is ageing and future capital replacement will need to be considered alongside growing service expectations.

Old School and Town Hall Revitalisation Project

Old School and Town Hall Revitalisation Project

 Posted:29/08/2025

The Shire is planning the future of two important community places in the town centre, the Old School site and the Town Hall. Both have deep local history and pride of place. Both also need a clear, sustainable plan for safe use, maintenance, and activation so they remain valued community assets for years to come.

Town Centre Revitalisation Project

32 Bannister Road Enhancement

32 Bannister Road Enhancement

The Town Centre Revitalisation Masterplan, released in 2023, proposes improvements for the vacant block at 32 Bannister Road. Community input was collected in early 2025 to shape the draft designs, to create a focal point on the main street with landscaping, public art, and space for community events and temporary retail.

Central Park Enhancement

Central Park Enhancement

The Shire sought community input on the plans to enhance Central Park and gather information on how the community would like to see the future use of this space. Feedback was collected online and in person from Tuesday, 18 February 2025 until Monday, 3 March 2025, with a community stall hosted outside the IGA on Friday, 21 February from 2-4pm.
