The construction work at the Town Hall car park is progressing well. The kerbing has been installed and was left to cure over the Easter period.
Upcoming works include:
- Thursday, 24 April: The lighting contractor will be on-site to install new light poles and solar-powered lighting for the carpark.
- Monday, 5 May to Friday, 9 May: Asphalt will be installed. This work may be completed in as little as two days; however, to ensure the best long-term results, the surface will remain non-trafficable until after Friday.
- Friday, 16 May: Line marking will take place.
- Monday, 19 May: The carpark and Peppercorn Lane will be open for use once the line marking is complete and dry.
Subsequent to the main carpark works being completed, landscaping and improved access control on Peppercorn Lane will be installed to protect the new kerbing. Some vehicular barriers will be installed along Peppercorn Lane to restrict access to adjacent vacant lots.
The project is expected to be finalised by the end of June.
