The Shire has secured $1.9 million through Main Roads WA's Regional Road Safety Program to deliver major safety upgrades on Lower Hotham Road.
The project will deliver significant improvements, including seal widening, installation of guideposts, and audible line marking along the full length of the road. Ground testing and pavement design are already underway, with works to be carried out by external contractors.
Construction is scheduled to commence in early 2026 and is expected to be completed by June 2026. Once completed, the upgrades will enhance safety for all road users, strengthen a vital transport route, and support local economic activity.
The Shire acknowledges the support of Main Roads WA in providing the grant funding that makes this important safety project possible.
