Residents gathered to celebrate the centenary of the Marradong Road Board building, a foundation stone in the history of Boddington.

In October 1891, the very first meeting took place around a humble tree stump on the east side of the Pinjarra–Williams Road, Marradong.

As the Pinjarra-Narrogin Railway carved its way through Boddington in the early 20th century, the district's focus naturally shifted away from Marradong.

In 1925, recognising the promise of a growing township, the Road Board relocated to Boddington, constructing a new office on Johnstone Street beside the Town Hall, a building that proudly still stands today.

In 1961, the Marradong Road Board was formally renamed the Shire of Boddington.

The celebratory morning tea paid tribute to those who have served the community, from that first meeting beneath the gum trees to the leaders of today. Happy 100 years, and here's to many more ahead.
