Emergency Broadcasting and ABC Radio Perth AM - FM Transition

Published on Saturday, 28 February 2026 at 11:05:00 AM

ABC Radio Perth has moved from 720 AM to 102.5 FM as of Monday, 23 February 2026. Boddington has been identified as a “crossover patch”, which means some residents who regularly listen to ABC Radio Perth may not be within range of the new 102.5 FM transmitter.

The good news is that the Boddington community is not losing access to ABC Radio.

You can still:

  • Tune into your local regional ABC station (531AM or 558AM).
  • Listen to ABC Radio Perth online.
  • Stream via the ABC Listen app.

The Emergency Broadcast Coordinator for ABC WA has advised that this transition will not impact the delivery of emergency warnings to the Boddington community. Providing residents with access to timely emergency information remains a priority.

Key Details:

  • 102.5 FM went live at 7:20 am on Monday, 23 February 2026.
  • 720 AM will remain available until Sunday, 5 April 2026, allowing listeners time to adjust.
