Children’s Week Success

The 2025 Children’s Week Celebration was organised by the Boddington Early Years Network on Tuesday, 21 October 2025. This annual event raises awareness and celebrates every child’s right to relax, play, and engage in activities they enjoy. This year’s theme was: "Everyone Should Know About Children’s Rights".

The celebration brought together approximately 70 local children and families in a safe, inclusive, and joyful environment, fostering connection and support throughout the Shire.

The event featured a range of family-friendly activities, including face painting, cookie decorating, sensory play, story time, a quiet area, and a complimentary morning tea. Highlights included inflatable fun from Perth Bouncy Castle Hire, Lions Club train rides, and an abundance of bubbles to delight the children.

The Queen of Beanz Coffee Van was also present, offering free coffees to the first 50 attendees, which was especially popular among parents and caregivers.

The Shire would like to extend gratitude to all community organisations and local businesses, including St John Ambulance, Boddington Diner, and the Lions Club, for their contributions to making the day a success. They ran stalls, hosted activities, and provided delicious, healthy food. Children also had the opportunity to explore one of the St John Ambulances, while Playgroup WA and Wanslea set up information stalls for parents and caregivers.

The Boddington Early Years Network includes the Shire of Boddington, Boddington Family Support Group, Boddington Playgroup, Boddington District High School, the Western Australian Country Health Service (WACHS), the Department of Communities – Early Years, the Department of Health, and Wanslea.

This event was proudly supported by a Meerlinga Children’s Week Grant, funded by the Department of Communities, the Department of Education, and Lotterywest.

Thank you to all who contributed to making this celebration successful!
