The Boddington Cheers to Volunteers Sundowner event was held during National Volunteer Week 2026, welcoming almost 80 local volunteers. The evening recognised the dedication of individuals who support community groups, sporting clubs, emergency services and not-for-profit organisations, highlighting the important role they play in building strong and connected communities.

Hosted at the Boddington Sports and Community Club, guests got to enjoy a complimentary buffet dinner by Double Shot Cafe while reflecting on this year's theme, Your Year to Volunteer. The event brought together representatives from 27 volunteer groups, providing an opportunity to celebrate the many ways people contribute.

Feedback from the evening was overwhelmingly positive, with all survey responses rating the event as excellent. Attendees particularly enjoyed the PowerPoint montage displayed throughout the night, which showcased photos capturing the breadth of volunteer efforts and achievements across the community over the past year.

As a token of appreciation, laser-engraved hot and cold mugs were presented to volunteers in attendance and proved to be a popular and well-received gift. The evening served as a meaningful acknowledgement of the significant impact volunteers continue to make within the community.
