This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people while contributing to a vibrant local community.

As part of the Development and Community Services team, you’ll help create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment through engaging programs, activities, and informal mentorship. Beyond supporting our youth, this role offers variety and exposure across the Shire by providing backup support at the Library and Visitor Centre, giving you the chance to contribute across multiple community spaces and gain diverse experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the efficient and effective daily operations of the Boddington Youth Centre.
  • Engaging and connecting with young people, with a focus on building positive relationships.
  • Assisting with the implementation and planning of projects and programs.
  • Providing operational support to the Library and Visitor Centre as required.

The successful applicant will have a positive, honest, and collaborative attitude, an interest in working with young people with a view to providing enriching experiences, and be able to work with limited supervision. You will also need the flexibility to work additional hours relevant to the needs of the role.

The position offers:

  • A competitive hourly rate of $39.93 inclusive of 25% casual loading, based on an adult wage.
  • Flexible working arrangements, with increased opportunities during the school holiday program.
  • Up to 18% superannuation if you join the Shire’s matching scheme of 6%.
  • Additional benefits including salary sacrifice and free pool and gym access.
  • Up to 6 hours per week (3:00pm–6:00pm, two days per week), with additional hours available during school holidays making it ideal for students, parents, or anyone seeking part-time work that fits around their lifestyle.

A satisfactory National Police Clearance (dated within the last 3 months) and a valid and current Working with Children’s Check are prerequisites for this role.
