The Shire of Boddington is a values-driven organisation dedicated to creating a safe, well-managed and thriving community. We are seeking a proactive Ranger and Regulatory Services Officer to join our Development and Community Services team to deliver regulatory, compliance and community safety services through inspections, investigations, enforcement activities and community engagement.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Deliver ranger and regulatory services across animal control, parking, litter and illegal dumping, livestock, local laws and other community compliance matters.
- Conduct patrols, inspections and investigations, including responding to complaints, gathering evidence, maintaining accurate records and following up identified breaches.
- Administer compliance and enforcement activities by interpreting relevant legislation and issuing warnings, directions, infringement notices and other statutory notices within delegated authority.
- Manage key regulatory programs, including firebreak compliance, planning and building compliance, and private swimming pool and spa safety barrier inspections.
- Engage with the community and stakeholders by providing regulatory advice, responding to enquiries, promoting voluntary compliance and managing difficult situations professionally.
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in compliance and enforcement, supported by strong investigation, legislative interpretation and community engagement skills. A current C Class driver's licence is required, while relevant regulatory qualifications and certifications will be highly regarded.
The position offers:
- Salary package between $103,777 and $109,413, including superannuation, with a cash component of up to $92,593.
- 76-hour fortnight with the opportunity for flexible working arrangements
- Up to 18% superannuation if you join the Shire’s matching scheme of 6%.
- Additional benefits, including salary sacrifice options, free pool and gym membership and two (2) additional days of leave each year.
