The Shire of Boddington is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to serve as an Independent Panel Member to support the recruitment of its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

 

In accordance with the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996 – Schedule 2 Model Standards, an Independent Panel Member must be appointed to provide external insight, ensure transparency and merit-based selection, and support governance integrity throughout the recruitment process.

 

About the Role 

The Independent Panel Member will participate in all relevant Selection Panel activities, including recruitment workshops, candidate shortlisting, interviews, and deliberations. The appointment will commence upon Council endorsement and continue until the recruitment process is concluded, which is expected to take approximately two months.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in candidate shortlisting, interview assessment, and deliberations.
  • Ensure merit-based and procedurally fair candidate assessment.
  • Declare any conflicts of interest and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Support the preparation of the final Selection Panel recommendation to the Council

 

The Independent Panel Member cannot be a current elected member or employee of the Shire. They are also to be free from any business or personal interest that could compromise, or be perceived to compromise, their independence.

 

Remuneration

The role is voluntary and as such there is no payment attributable to the Independent Member.

Lodgement Process

Interested candidates are to complete the Expression of Interest form and submit it to the Shire by no later than 4pm, Monday, 16 March 2026. Responses are to be addressed to the CEO Selection Panel and can be lodged via email to hr@boddington.wa.gov.au. Hand delivered or postal submissions will also be accepted, and can be sent to PO Box 4, Boddington WA 6390.
