The fit out of the Boddington Interpretation Centre has commenced. Carpenters from The Factory and the project managers from Creative Spaces visited Boddington recently to measure up the space that was once the old high school science room for the Boddington Old School to convert it into our new Interpretation Centre. The centre will include panels that offer an overview of the history, people and culture of Boddington, how the town has developed over the years and also some items to view and touch as visitors to the centre engage with the space. Along with the static displays the centre will also include digital imagery and interviews on iPads and TV Screens to give an insight into what it was like to grow up, live, learn and work in Boddington. For locals, you will see & hear local people talking about their experiences within Boddington. Tahnee Forbes and our media production company Green Man Media visited 10 local residents over on the 6th & 7th February to conduct interviews and gather footage to include in the digital media that will be on display. Thank you to the participants, Heather Stevens, Phil Salmeri, Dot Darby, Jim Nelson, Graeme Reynolds, Vinn Roser, Natalie Griffiths and the youth centre children, Greg Thorne, Mel Durack & Greg Marston (and your helpers), you certainly made the experience easy and trouble free and we are very excited to see the end results. As the centre is opened and we continue to build on our content the Shire hopes to continue to film significant people and events that contribute to our community for inclusion in the centre.
