The Shire of Boddington is a values-driven organisation, proud to serve our community through the delivery of a diverse range of services. We are seeking a motivated and suitably experienced Plant Operator/General Hand to join our Infrastructure Services team. Reporting to the Infrastructure Services Coordinator, the primary purpose of this role is to operate a variety of plant and equipment to support civil construction and maintenance activities across the Shire.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Undertake general construction and maintenance works on infrastructure, including roads, pathways and drainage systems.
- Operate and maintain plant and equipment in accordance with approved work practices, procedures, service levels and quality standards.
- Perform traffic management duties in accordance with the Shire’s safe work procedures.
- Attending pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and training when required.
- Contribute to a safe, productive and collaborative team environment.
To be successful in this role, you will have a positive attitude, strong work ethic and experience in a similar position. You will also possess relevant plant operation tickets and competencies, or a willingness to obtain them. A current HR Class Driver's Licence is desirable.
The position offers:
- Salary package between $89,851 and $94,702, including superannuation, with a cash component of up to $78,665.
- 76-hour fortnight, structured as an 8-day work cycle, with a 4-day weekend every second week.
- Up to 18% superannuation if you join the Shire’s matching scheme of 6%.
- Additional benefits, including salary sacrifice options, free pool and gym membership and 2 additional days of leave each year.
