This project is underway, with Emerge Associates being appointed to assist the Shire in developing the masterplan. Shortly, a solar CCTV unit will be deployed on Bannister Road for a period of 4 weeks, to collect and analyse pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
This will help to inform the project, and will be used, for example, to determine where best to place a pedestrian crossing, by counting people and vehicles over a certain period. If an incident should occur while the unit is deployed, footage could be requested for the purpose of investigating the incident, and in accordance with standard CCTV procedures, footage is only analysed by a licensed security agent endorsed by the Shire and the WA Police.
