Last week, the Gnaala Work Ready team from Newmont Boddington Gold, presented a donation of upcycled bikes to staff and members of the Boddington Youth Centre. The Gnaala Work Ready program focusses on creating long term, sustainable employment opportunities and career pathways for Aboriginal people to enter the mining sector. The candidates have recently applied their skills to save old and broken bikes from landfill, by repairing them to have a new lease of life at the Boddington Youth Centre.

Newmont Boddington Gold then arranged for the bikes to be serviced to ensure they were in tip-top condition for our young people to use immediately at the Pump Track and Skate Park last Friday afternoon. The bikes have proved to be a hit with members of the Boddington Youth Centre, and the co-location with these facilities, will help to increase participation and support the broader health and wellbeing of young people.

Boddington Youth Centre staff and members extend its appreciation to Newmont Boddington Gold for leading an impactful and sustainable project!
