August Council Decisions

The following decisions were made at the August 2022 Ordinary Council Meeting:

  • Council endorsed the recommendation from the Audit Committee to receive two reports that are required on a three yearly basis relating to financial management systems, and risk management. 
  • The Shire of Boddington Fire Access Track Order 2022/23 was approved in accordance with the Boddington Bush Fire Advisory Committee recommendation.
  • The Shire of Boddington Council Plan 2022 – 2032 was approved.
  • The Hospital Precinct was endorsed as the preferred option for the establishment of an Aged Care Facility.
  • Council authorised a submission to be provided to the Environmental Protection Authority, in relation to South32 Worsley Alumina’s proposed expansion of bauxite mining operations.
  • The 2022/23 Budget was adopted, including various financial statements, rates, and fees and charges.
  • Council endorsed the Boddington Bowling Club’s Community Sport & Recreation Facility Fund application for the replacement of a bowling green.
  • Various requests under the Community Grant Program were approved by Council including:
    - $1,200 to the Boddington District High School to support the delivery of a community session focused around developing self awareness and resilience, by Luke Kennedy.
    - $1,000 to the Boddington Arts Council for equipment to support televised art and craft programs.
    - $2,000 to the Boddington Burnout Group, to fund part of the cost of a noise assessment.
    - $675 to the Boddington Community Newsletter for equipment to support the retention of volunteers.  
  • Council approved a request from the Boddington Community Resource Centre for an additional $5,000 to support the Friday Night Festival and Saturday Street Parade events.
