Protecting Our Community Together
The Shire of Boddington is proud to be supported by four dedicated Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades:
- Boddington Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade
- Crossman Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade
- Marradong Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade
- Quindanning Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade
These brigades play a vital role in safeguarding lives, property, and the environment by responding to bushfires and supporting community resilience.
Volunteering as a bushfire firefighter is both a responsibility and a service to the community. The Shire works closely with its brigades to ensure all volunteers are trained, equipped, and supported to meet the challenges of fire response. Guided by the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and the State Hazard Plan – Fire, we are committed to ensuring that every member has the skills, resources, and protection they need to perform their role safely and effectively.
Training and Safety
The Shire recognises its responsibilities under the State Hazard Plan – Fire to ensure that all response personnel are trained and maintained to at least the minimum standard recommended by the WA Fire and Emergency Services Commissioner.
