Bush Fire Control 2018/19

At the July 2018 Council meeting held recently the Council accepted the recommendations of the Boddington Bush Fire Advisory Committee and confirmed the appointment of William Batt as Chief Bush Fire Control Officer and Jesse Reid as Deputy Bush Fire Control Officer. William Batt was previously the Deputy Chief Bush Fire Control Officer to Greg Day who did not seek re-election at the Bush Fire Advisory Committee AGM. William has been involved with the Marradong Brigade for many years and has previously been the Chief Bush Fire Control Officer for Boddington. Jesse is a Fire Control Officer from the Crossman Brigade and acted as Captain for the Crossman Brigade over the past few years.

Council would like to thank Greg Day for his many years of dedicated service to the Boddington Community and especially for his service as Chief Bush Fire Control Officer since 2011. The role of Chief Bush Fire Control Officer is a demanding one with a lot of responsibility and one that requires a lot of time devoted to it. Greg has been very dedicated to ensuring the safety of our community and the Shire is very appreciative of his efforts. We thank Greg for his time as Chief and wish him well for the future.

Follow a recommendation from the outgoing Chief and the Bush Fire Advisory Committee Council will be conducting a full review of the Annual Bush Fire Access Track Order prior to adopting the Order for the 2018/19 Fire Season.
