Shire of Boddington

What is a Strategic Community Plan?

The Shire of Boddington’s Strategic Community Plan is the highest level planning document that guides how the Shire will operate and deliver projects and services over the medium to long term.

A Strategic Community Plan identifies the long term priorities, goals and overall vision for a local government, to guide decision making. To ensure that the Strategic Community Plan stays current and accurately reflects the priorities of the local community, a full review is undertaken every four years, with a desktop review every two years.

Whether you are passionate about agriculture, roads, culture, art, sport and recreation, tourism, business development or the environment, now is the time to have your say and make sure the future of Boddington represents the community collective vision. The outcomes of this project will directly inform the Shire’s priorities and budgeting, so your input is key!

Progress so far?

Over 300 people recently took part in the Community Strategic Pan Survey. Data from the surveys was then collated into the Community Scorecard and presented at the SCP Workshops held on May 3 and 4. Over 80 people attended, including a group of students from the Boddington District Senior High School, to talk about the main street beautification, a community gym, upgrades for the swimming pool, support for an aged accommodation facility, facilitating the Weir dredging project, sustainable waste management programs, playgrounds, education needs, and much more!

Information from the two workshops is currently being collated into a draft Council Plan, which will detail both strategic aspirations and specific actions. The draft will be circulated and be available for community comment in June / July 2022.

Full results from Survey have been collated and are available to download here: Survey Results
