WATER CORP CHARGES FROM STANDPIPES TO INCREASE

Watercorp charges from standpipes to increase

Council has received advice from Watercorp that the price of water from Council controlled standpipes will increase from 1 July 2019.

Council is currently charged $2.53 per kilolitre and on-sells for $3.65 per kilolitre. The rate council is being charged is rising to $8.35 per kilolitre.

Council is yet to set its fees for 2019/20.

The only way to avoid the increase is for Council to install 20 mm water metres and 25 mm standpipes. Given the reduction in flow, Council is not considering this option.
