TAX HELP

Tax Help is a network of ATO-trained and accredited community volunteers who provide a free and confidential service to help people complete their tax returns online using myTax.   This year the ATO has around 800 volunteers who will provide assistance at over 600 Tax Help centres nationally. Tax Help is available for low income earners (around $60,000 or less) with simple tax affairs. Volunteers can help you lodge your tax return or amendment online, or claim a refund of franking credits. If you’re eligible for Tax Help and use email you will need a myGov account linked to the ATO. Volunteers can help you to set up your myGov account and link it to the ATO if you haven’t done this already. If you don’t use email Tax Help volunteers can still assist you. To find out more contact 13 28 61 or visit ato.gov.au/taxhelp confirm your eligibility and to make an appointment.
