The Shire of Boddington Youth Centre's school holiday program is in full swing, featuring a Pool and Table Tennis competition, an Easter Egg Hunt, and a Taste of Japan session with Sushi making and Origami!

On Thursday, 28 March, 2024, Council approved the amended Local Planning Policy 7, Outbuildings. The Policy can be accessed on the Shire's website here. Additionally, the Council revoked several Local Planning Policies as they have been superseded by State Planning Policies and/or Local Planning Scheme No.3. These policies are; Local Planning Policy No. 4 Rural Residential Lots and Water Supplies Local Planning Policy No. 8 Fire Protection Local Planning Policy No. 12 Multiple Dwellings on Rural Land

The completion of a 2km segment of Harvey Quindanning Road marks a significant milestone in connecting Boddington to the Southwest. This project aligns with a long-term plan to enhance road safety by sealing the route and was made possible through funding from both the Regional Road Group and the Shire of Boddington.

Newmont Boddington Gold have generously offered to donate a dump truck for display in Boddington. This is an opportunity to create a unique tourism attraction for the town, while also highlighting the significant role of gold mining in our community's history and economy.

On Thursday 14 March 2024, the Shire of Boddington held the Swearing in Ceremony for recently elected Councillors; Cr Paul Carrotts, Cr Johan Van Heerden and Cr Hans Prandl.

On Saturday, 23 March, 2024, the banks of Hotham River came alive with the vibrant South32 Summer by the River event. Hotham Park was transformed into a hub of excitement and entertainment for the whole community and tourists far and wide.

The Shire of Boddington is seeking submissions from the Community for items to be considered for inclusion in the 2024/25 annual budget. This input will help inform the development of the budget by ensuring a diverse range of ideas are considered, and resources are allocated in a way that benefit a broad cross section of the community.

The Shire of Boddington supports local businesses and community groups with various funding opportunities to help them achieve their goals and benefit the wider community.

The Shire of Boddington has been working closely with a community led reference group, to develop future plans for the enhancement of Ranford Pool (Darminning).

Main Roads WA are proposing a number of speed limit changes around Boddington, and have requested the Shire undertake community consultation in relation to the planned changes.

The conclusion of the Pollard Street drainage project is approaching. New kerbs and sidewalks have been installed, and the upcoming bitumen replacement will merge with the newly installed side entry drainage.

The Shire of Boddington has received an application from South32 Worsley Alumina to ‘permanently’ close a portion of Ashcroft Road, Morts Road, and Rogers Bend in the localities of Boddington and Marradong. The roads are proposed to be closed to allow mining through the area

Summer by the River is set to illuminate the skies once again with an awesome fireworks display during its event on 23 March, 2024 at Hotham Park. Through collaboration with Cardile International Fireworks, a comprehensive risk mitigation plan has been developed to ensure that the event's location and procedures align with Boddington's needs. The local community can help ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment during the event by following these guidelines

Residents are encouraged to make use of the Boddington Standpipe situated at the rear of Town Hall, as the standpipe at the truck bay is temporarily closed due to low water levels in the town dam, until further notice.

Following the recent mural theme survey which had over 60 responses, the Shire of Boddington is excited to invite experienced mural artists to beautify a number of locations within the community. This key element of the Town Centre Revitalisation Project is set to enhance the visual charm of Boddington.

The Shire's Town Centre Revitalisation project includes the permanent installation of Mural Art in Boddington's town centre. These artworks seek to elevate the town's visual appeal.

LOTE4Kids is a digital book database designed for children to enjoy and learn world languages through storytelling.

The Hotham Park toilet block is set for a much needed refresh at the end of March, with new internal fixtures, tiling and external rendering in preparation for a mural all scheduled. The renovation is expected to take approximately eight weeks.
